Georgia and the Republic of Korea Sign Memorandum of Understanding on Digital Government

On September 8, the Ministry of Justice of Georgia and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation in digital government. The agreement provides for the establishment of a Digital Government Cooperation Center in Georgia and joint work to further develop Georgia’s unified electronic services portal, my.gov.ge.

The signing took place during an official visit to the Republic of Korea by Georgia’s Minister of Justice, Paata Salia. During a meeting with Yun Ho-jung, Minister of the Interior and Safety Republic of Korea, Minister Salia discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in digital development.

Minister emphasized the importance of the partnership in artificial intelligence, innovative technologies, electronic services, and digital government. He also shared Georgia’s recent progress in digital government, electronic services, cybersecurity, and information security.

The Georgian delegation included Beka Dzamashvili, First Deputy Minister of Justice; Tamar Zodelava, Deputy Minister of Justice; Sandro Tsirekidze, Chair of the Digital Governance Agency; and Mikheil Tigishvili, Chargé d’Affaires of Georgia to the Republic of Korea.
